Here is a Poster series inspired by the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. I wanted to do a three poster series to represent the three overwhelming genres that were being shown at the film festival- Comedy, Drama, and Horror. I did some initial mood colors that I felt represented the respective category and then did an energetic contour. I decided to take that concept and find images from each portraits' movies, adjust colors, saturation and digitally warp and manipulate them to provide texture to a previously very flat background.

I carried a number of motifs through the poster series so it gave the set some cohesion, such as; the implementation of a yellow (in the logo and in the header type) to recall sundance's original logo and provide contrast, lower opacity with an overlapped contour type to mimic the illustration and carry through the idea of overlapping elements.
